Best Value dual band wireless-n gigabit router: Netgear WNDR3700

"Finally the Pops!"
After many years I was Linksysfan I turned to the wrt320n and the WRT610N from this company. Both devices are still hanging irreproducibility. Times when access to a NLL which is in the network, and sometimes simply hanging overnight. Only by connecting the device has worked to return. See also my review on the WRT610N. So I took the risk of buying a Wndr3700 still fairly new, this could not be worse. Gabs U.S. in various forums already exuberant applause to the device so I decided to order at times. This was not a mistake raustellt how. Speed Hammermäßig and not a single incident.

Netgear WNDR3700 Review

In both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks I found that WNDR3700 supports transfer rates up to 9.5 Mb / s, even from USB! The Linksys WRT610N will cost 130? and brings the USB 1.5 Mb / s. The maximum speed with the WRT610N is slightly less than 5.5 MB / s visible to about 3m away. Everything in the 2.4 GHz network tested with 40MHz channel duplication. USB devices can also be made available on the Internet via FTP. Interface language is entirely in German and firmware updates are automatically searching the Internet and contain old. (can be disabled) device is not nearly as warm as the Linksys.

To access the USB part can be, unfortunately, do not define a user. Only the administrator or router all have access. DLNA client that have not been tested because I have no corresponding device. The range is impressive. 40MHz dual-mode in which the Rechweite shorter, but the volume is more than what I have to plan the neighborhood had a complete reception and 7 MB / s speed. Customer is a WUSB600N from Linksys.

With the WRT610N, it was the same space of about 3.5 MB / s. All in all, a worthy successor to my WRT54GL shortly after the release is stable and usable. In the coming months are certainly the first dd-wrt beta. It appears that Netgear has done everything right and released a top router for a reasonable price.

Only the interface is a bit 'slow. After confirming the settings supported, the WNDR3700 router seems to start each time takes about 1 minute. But ok, if stability is beneficial. ;) Various setting options for QoS, port forwarding, upnp, etc. I have not tested.

Since I live in a skyscraper, and in my immediate area for more than a dozen wireless networks are active, I wanted to go to Kanalbeschraenkung 5GHz band and related disturbances in the 2.4 GHz band to avoid.

I had previously had a Netgear Geraet and wanted to stay here, so he became one WNDR-3700

The installation is so simple that a user manual and installation CD are actually unnecessary. Therefore, it is a venial sin, that the installation software does not work on Win7-64bit. Even the default username and password are entered directly on the device. (Do not forget to change the situation!)

Therefore, only the router connected and ready! I was already on the internet! Even a firmware update has found the router, which makes the product from Netgear was not at all.

The router has four LAN ports, each of which I am taking: Win7 desktop PC with 64-bit, the Brother MFC-5440, NAS hard drives from Fujitsu-Siemens and the Media Server Netgear EVA 8000, evokes the contents of the PC to TV. About Wi-Fi, I have two HP notebooks with Win7 64bit draft-N mode in the 5GHz band. See, I reach for optimal signal transfer rate 10 MB / s.

In the 2.4 GHz band, I ran another Netbook Medion Win XP, a Terratec Internet Radio, with my WM 6.1 smartphone and a Nokia E60. And because the router or a USB port, I have also attached as a hard drive that works perfectly.

Summary: Curious as I am, I once put into operation all equipment of Netgear WNDR3700 at the same time - no problem! The most extensive, such as networks of the client or media server, I have not tried yet, because I really do not need.

Up to this point, but a great device that I can recommend. More Netgear WNDR3700 reviews.
